Send Attributed Leads to ActiveCampaign

Able sends attributed leads to ActiveCampaign as contacts, allowing to quickly integrate any website form with ActiveCampaign API.

Able CDP ActiveCampaign API integration simplifies adding and updating contacts in ActiveCampaign by providing an interface, linking Able form tracking with server-side ActiveCampaign API.

Able will automatically map fields in the tracked forms to ActiveCampaign. In addition to standard field names such as firstName and lastName, any additional form fields will be mapped automatically provided ActiveCampaign has Custom Fields with the same names.

This integration only creates and updates ActiveCampaign contacts. Please refer to the ActiveCampaign Events API integration guide if you'd like an event to be sent as ActiveCampaign event and displayed on the contact timeline in ActiveCampaign as well.

To leverage Able CDP attribution, create custom fields with the same names as the Able attribution details: Landing Page, Referrer URL, UTM Campaign, UTM Source, UTM Medium etc. When such custom fields are present in ActiveCampaign, Able will automatically populate them with its attribution details.

Lead fields called tags and lists have a special meaning. Able attempts to locate matching ActiveCampaign tags and lists and adds them to the contact if available. These fields can have multiple comma-separated tags or list names, for example: "form-lead,landing-page-one".

Obtain ActiveCampaign API Key

Locate API URL and Key in ActiveCampaign Settings in the Developer section.

Save API Key to Able Settings

In Able Dashboard, press "Add Service Integration" and select "ActiveCampaign".

Add a new credential, copying settings from the ActiveCampaign.

Enable Outbound Integration

In Able Dashboard, press "Add Service Integration" and select "ActiveCampaign".

Select the ActiveCampaign credential and choose desired event type. For example, Lead or Contact. Press Save.

Track ActiveCampaign Events as Conversions

Able CDP receives ActiveCampaign webhooks and tracks them as conversions.

This allows you to use internal changes in ActiveCampaign as a source of conversions. For example, a tag added to an ActiveCampaign contact can be used as a qualification event, and a closed deal can be configured to generate a Purchase event.

Each of these events occurring within ActiveCampaign will be attributed to the originally tracked customer source and click ID, and can be sent to ad platforms for reporting and ad-delivery optimization.

Configure an ActiveCampaign webhook to send conversion data to Able

There are two places where you can create a webhook in ActiveCampaign: Developer Settings and Automation:

  1. Developer Settings under My Settings. Will post data to a third-party source every time a specified action(s)/event is completed.
  2. Webhook automation action. Will post data to another URL once a contact interacts with the Webhook action in an automation.

The target webhook URL should be formed as follows:

https://t5jdvxgaea.execute-api.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/webhook/%%FUNNEL_MARK%%/EventName/dealValue/dealCurrency

The last three components EventName, dealValue and dealCurrency should be replaced with the actual values you'd like to use (which event name to transform the webhook to and what conversion value to assign).

You may omit the last two parameters (/dealValue/dealCurrency) if the conversion has no inherent value.

%%FUNNEL_MARK%% is the unique identifier of your Able CDP Funnel.

To create a webhook under Developer Settings in ActiveCampaign:

  1. Click Settings (gear icon), then Developer on the left menu in ActiveCampaign.
  2. Click the "Manage Webhooks" button.
  3. Click the "Add" button.
