When a visitor fills out a form, signs up, or makes a purchase, Able associates the landing page parameters with the email or phone number they provided. This data is stored server-side in a persistent database—not in a browser cookie that can expire or be blocked. No guesswork, no fingerprinting—just real customer identity from real interactions.

3. Track conversions server-side. Able connects directly with Stripe, CRMs, and e-commerce platforms via server-to-server integrations to capture purchases, subscriptions, and qualification events. These conversions are tracked without any browser-side code, so ad blockers and cookie restrictions have zero impact.

4. Send attributed conversions to ad platforms. Each conversion is matched back to the original click ID and sent to Facebook Conversions API, Google Ads API, and other platforms via server-side tracking. Ad platforms receive accurate attribution data for campaign optimization—without ever depending on a cookie.

Why Not Device Fingerprinting?

Some tracking solutions replace cookies with device fingerprinting—using browser characteristics, IP addresses, and screen resolution to identify visitors. While this may seem like a practical alternative, it creates more problems than it solves.

Fingerprinting is unreliable: browsers actively randomize fingerprint signals, and shared networks or VPNs produce false matches. It's also a legal liability—GDPR and ePrivacy regulations treat fingerprinting as a tracking technology that requires the same consent as cookies, and regulators are increasingly enforcing against it.

Able CDP avoids fingerprinting entirely. Instead, Able uses consented first-party data—the email address, phone number, or account details that customers voluntarily provide when they sign up, submit a form, or make a purchase. How Does Able Differ from sGTM and CAPI Gateway?

Server-side Google Tag Manager and Meta CAPI Gateway implement 'server-side tagging', but their data collection still relies on tracking code running in the user's browser. Event data is sent to a server container that executes tracking tags—hence 'server-side tagging'. If the browser blocks cookies or the user doesn't consent, sGTM and CAPI Gateway lose that data just like client-side pixels do.
